IN LINE with the Feast of Our Lady of Rosary, the Our Lady of La Naval will be paraded today at the Santo Domingo Parish in Quezon City.
The procession will happen at 4 pm. The image of Our Ina will pass through Santo Domingo Street, then will turn left to Dapitan Street. Our Ina will then turn left again at D. Tuazon Street and finally turn left to Quezon Avenue, returning to the Santo Domingo Church. |
Motorists are expected to experience heavy traffic due to the procession. Devotees were also advised to refrain from using their phones and cameras during the Solemnity of the Enthronement of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary inside the Santo Domingo Church.
The annual procession of Our Lady of La Naval de Manila has been practiced by Filipino Catholics led by the Order of Preachers to commemorate the guidance of Our Ina to the Filipinos.
It also commemorates the win of the Filipinos in the five the battles of La Naval de Manila in 1646 when the Philippines was spared from the invasion of the Dutch. The Dutch outnumbered Spanish-Filipino Forces but through the aid of Our Lady, the Dutch invasion miraculously failed.
