Some people think that if there is one thing that is constant here in this world a side for change, it would be death. Death is an inevitable thing for all living things.
Some people see death as the great equalizer for whether you are rich or poor, famous or not, a sinner or religious, death is always the end of one's existence. At a certain point in our life, everything will come to an end. Like what most of millenials say, "wala naman forever e" - which is true in our lives as human beings.
Some even thought that people have flashbacks before they die to see of what kind of life they have lived. But do we wait for death for us to realize what kind of life we had? This Sunday, the Gospel tells us to reflect if our life has been the kind of life God called us to.
As people of God, death is not the end of us but a start for God's glorious plan of salvation for us. It is God's eternal Love for us and His promise of eternal life which constitutes our hope for His second coming.
Since our Baptism, God gave us the opportunity to live and cherish an eternal life.
But the eternal life that was promised in our baptism should be patterned on the kind of life that God has called us to. God urges us to have a faithful and loving life just like what His Son Jesus Christ did. And this lenten season, we are called to reflect on what kind of life are we currently living. This Sunday, let us remember the life we considered living. Is the kind of life God wants us to have? Is it the life worth living,
As we approach the triumph of Jesus Christ against death on Easter Sunday, let us remember our life and faith. Are we worthy of God's promise of salvation? Have we been a good disciple of Christ? Have we loved enough? Have we forgave enough? Have we turn our backs to our sins? Death is not the end. It is only the beginning of God's salvation and proof that God has the power over death and sin.
